UAE – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Group has generated $500 million in value through AI solutions in 2023, said Ibrahim Al Zubi Group, Chief Sustainability & ESG Officer at ADNOC Group.

Speaking at the 2024 Global Sustainability Forum in Abu Dhabi, Al Zubi revealed that ADNOC employs over 30 AI tools across its value chain, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The forum also saw the launch of a digital platform for AI and sustainability startups, aimed at accelerating sustainable development goals.

The platform, developed in partnership with the CEO Sustainability Network and IBM, will collect ideas from companies and individuals for potential implementation in the UAE and the region.

It focuses on nurturing young Emirati and Arab talent to bolster the UAE's position in applying AI for sustainable development.

This year's Global Sustainability Forum attracted more than 460 participants and 85 companies, a significant increase from the previous edition held during COP28.

Al Zubi noted that the event has exceeded its targets fourfold in just one year.

The Global Sustainability Forum builds on the achievements of its inaugural edition and supports the climate change goals outlined in the UAE Consensus.
